Personal Development (covered by boss today @ staff meeting): the victor vs victim syndrome in life and learning
Simply choose to be a BED person:
B - Blame
E - Excuses
D - Denial
Or OAR:
O - Ownership
A - Accountable
R - Responsible
The victim always has a reason for not achieving, and its rarely to do with himself as everything is always someone else's fault - he feels out of control so lays blame at someone else's door. He make excuses for his under-performance, not realising the only person he's convincing is himself. After repeating this pattern of blame n excuses for long enough, the victim lives a life of denial, convinced that thrs absolutely nothing he can do about his situation.
The victor takes ownership of his tasks, not expecting someone else to lead the way. He's accountable for his actions, and so takes them seriously, seeing things through by tacking problems not creating them. He's responsible for the results of his actions, so doesn't take excuses from himself.
